Pirate Jack is the name of the 2009/2010 LTM National Pantomime. It ’sets sail’ on Boxing Day, December 26, 2009, at 6 p.m. at the Little Theatre (Arthur Wint Drive, Kingston) and will be playing into the new year.

Jamaica Observer newspaper feature on the upcoming 2009/2010 LTM National Pantomime – For Pirate Jack, the upcoming 2009/10 LTM National Pantomime, the main settings are a fishing beach and a pirate ship at sea. To get the feel of the seaside environment, the Pantomime Company last weekend went on location to the fishing beaches at Port Henderson, near the old Forum hotel, and Old Harbour Bay.

LTM National Pantomime Honours The Spirit Of Emancipation

For three nights last weekend (Friday, Saturday and Sunday night), the LTM National Pantomime Company honoured the spirit of Emancipation with tributes to the ancestors, involving music, drama and discussions.

Each night, there were songs from the classic Augus Mawnin, followed by on stage conversations with guests from the community who discussed the meaning of Emancipation and the road traveled in Jamaica from slavery to the present.

There were two guest speakers on the opening night – Dr. Clinton Hutton, lecturer in government in the Faculty of Social Sciences; and Douglas Orane, CEO of Grace KennedyLtd.
